Rrivre Davies, the multi-talented owner and creative force behind Rrivre Works, Inc., believes that âlife celebrations provide joyous memories that last a lifetimeâ. The Rrivre Works team, lead by Rrivre, combines the disciplines of art, architecture, floral design and âcultural intuitivismâ to create extraordinary environments for corporate and entertainment-industry events including film premieres, award show parties and product launches, as well as for personal celebrations such as birthdays, anniversaries and bar mitzvahs.
A native Californian born to parents of British and American heritage, Rrivre spent his formative years traveling the globe. By the time he entered college at U.C. Berkeley, he had visited over 30 countries and has the distinction of being one of the first westerners to visit Mainland China after the prohibition on such travel was lifted in the 1980âs. âThe greatest lesson my parents taught me is that we need to see things from as many perspectives as possible to truly know ourselves and our worldâ, says Rrivre. Out of this philosophy comes the Rrivre Works â3-D Designâ process â visualizing every event from all angles and designing the event space with that in mind.
After completing his studies at Berkeley, as well as at the University of Barcelona in Spain, Rrivre returned to his childhood home of Santa Barbara. Recognizing his unique eye for design, Rrivre was tapped by friends in the film and television industries to serve first as a trainee and later as a full-fledged Art Director for films, commercials and music videos. While rooming with a chef who was catering an event for Disneyâs Pocahontas, Rrivre was asked to create the décor for the premiere party. His work was so well received that Rrivre became the âgo-toâ for many of the entertainment companyâs future projects including celebrations for the films The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Mulan, Toy Story 2, Tarzan and A Bugâs Life, as well as the 100th episode party for televisionâs Home Improvement.
In the ensuing years, Rrivre has created celebration spaces for entertainment companies including Showtime, Miramax Films (The Insider, Chicago), HBO (The Leopard Son), ABC, Warner Bros., Viacom, UPN, Paramount (Academy Awards Party), ESPN, Fox (Rocky Horror Picture Show 25th Anniversary Party â broadcast on VH1), as well as organizations including the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, NATPE and the Directors Guild of America. He has also worked with numerous celebrities and captains of industry on their personal events. Rrivreâs corporate clients include American Honda, MasterCard, Hyatt, Sothébyâs and Toyota. Recently, Rrivre was the guest designer for the premier episode of âExtreme Weddingsâ on ABC, and designed the pre and post party for the 2005 MTV Movie Awards.
âWorking in the event arena allows me to stretch myself creatively and share my vision with othersâ, says Rrivre. âI am able to put smiles on peoples faces and that gives me great joy and satisfaction.â
